Van den Bergh victory in Youth race!

1/10/2014

Direct from the Unicorn Website - We expect to have the Dimitri van den Bergh darts available at Deadeye soon!

Team Unicorn youngster Dimitri van den Bergh has shown yet again just why he is tipped for big things in the world of darts.

The Belgian ace has won again on the PDC Unicorn Youth Tour.....he triumphed in the 13th Youth event of the year at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on Saturday.

Van den Bergh beat Adam Smith-Neale 4-1 in the final to pocket the £1,000 prize money but more importantly he stays clear at the top of the PDC Unicorn Youth Order of Merit.

He was impressive in beating James Hubbard 4-3 in the quarter-finals and Ryan de Vreede 4-1 in the semi-finals.

Van den Bergh was actually targeting a double. He got through to the quarter-finals of the second tournament of the day, but lost out 4-1 to fellow Unicorn star Keegan Brown.

Unfortunately though, it turned into a weekend of huge disappointment for Brown. The PDC Unicorn World Youth Champion was 3-0 in front of the Youth tour 14 Final against Josh Payne.....he was in cruise control but somehow he couldn't finish the job and Payne won four straight legs to take the match!

Meanwhile the latest two events on the PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour were both won by Mark Frost on Sunday. In the final of Challenge Tour 13, he beat Prakash Jiwa 5-4 and in event 14, Frost beat Steve Douglas 5-1.

The back-to-back wins put Frost ahead of Alan Tabern at the top of the Challenge Tour Order of Merit.....don't forget the winner receives a Tour Card for the main PDC tour events in 2015.

Team Unicorn came close on Sunday....Dutch youngster Dirk van Duijvenbode reached the semi-finals of the second tournament, but he lost 5-3 to Douglas.

Van Duijvenbode had won an all Unicorn quarter-final as he beat Aden Kirk 5-4.

The Youth and Challenge Tournaments continue on November 1 and 2 in Wigan with the finale and the last two events of the year
